DeBorah Strong

DeBorah Strong, born in Gary, Indiana, moved to Milwaukee in 1990 seeking employment opportunities. After working several years in food service and manufacturing, and upon great encouragement, she decided to make significant changes to improve the quality of her life and the lives of her sons. In 2002, she graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College with an Associate Degree in Human Services with a concentration in Substance Abuse Counseling. Next, in 2010, DeBorah graduated from Marquette University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. DeBorah has worked with various populations in Milwaukee, such as the Leaders of Tomorrow After-School Program for at-risk youth ages 6-14 aligned with United Neigborhood Centers of Milwaukee, COA Youth & Family Center Camp Registrar for entry to the children/youth summer camp programs (Burke & Riverwest centers), summer/winter programming to Camp Helen Brachman, Milwaukee Public Schools as a rotational & long-term substitute teacher for students ages 6-18, Department of Corrections clients in intervention programs for adults, Comprehensive Treatment Center (MAT) for adults, First Step Community Recovery Center for adults, Milwaukee Job Corps, Career Counselor & Trainee Employee Assistance Program (TEAP Specalist) for students ages 16-24, and GRO Family Services for adults. In 2023, DeBorah completed a Master's Degree in Education with a concentration in Mental Health from Springfield College and holds professional licenses as a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor-IT from the State of Wisconsin. DeBorah continues to be of service to the different populations she serves in the Milwaukee community.
