Fuel Our Connection this #GivingTuesday2020
If 2020 taught us anything, maybe it is that our connections are important - those people we share our homes with, the neighbors and friends we share our lives with, the community who supports us including people we don't know who kept grocery stores, public transportation and medical clinics open even when the rest of the world paused.
One of the most crucial elements of our work is maintaining a connection with women survivors on the streets of Milwaukee - some homeless, some managing the chronic illness of addiction, all experiencing various levels of sexual exploitation and the on-going experience of persistent trauma. We do this through Street Outreach - bringing food and dignity to women walking the streets of Milwaukee.
This Giving Tuesday, we ask for your help to Fuel our Connection to these survivors by quite literally keeping our van fueled up for our Street Outreach. As we have experienced during other economic recessions over our 25 year history, any time the economy takes a dip, more and more women turn to the streets.
Donate to the Facebook Fundraiser here to help us get to our goal of $10,000.
Not on Facebook? Feel free to donate safely online here or send your contribution with a check to: Franciscan Peacemakers, 3333 W Lisbon Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53208. Please put Giving Tuesday in the memo line.
In gratitude for your support of our work, we invite you to join our board, staff and volunteers on the Franciscan Peacemakers facebook page on #givingTuesday (December 1, 2020) to hear about what keeps us fueled up spiritually. We thank you in advance for your generosity and care for the women we serve.
