We all go through periods of discomfort which can lead to growth. It would be easy to dwell on the past and never move forward. Instead, I try to stay in the present--focusing on the tasks at hand. Of course, it’s important to remember our struggles, where we came from. But we all have to be striving to make better decisions, to surround ourselves with people who bring out the best in us, and to put our faith in God.
My biggest strength is believing in God so I pray a lot. I pray and it helps me focus on what is real, to understand where I’m really at. Prayer helps me to find things I’m grateful for in my life. Prayer is also a powerful reminder that this too will pass. For all those struggles I overcame, I prayed through.
